Our partnership with Brantano

Shoe retailer Brantano Footwear has chosen Macmillan Cancer Support as its charity for the year. It will organise fundraising events and initiatives throughout the partnership, calling on their staff and customers to get involved.

Karen Staton‚ Retail Operations Director‚ at Brantano‚ said: 'It is an absolute privilege to work with Macmillan. It does such great work for millions of people. The number of people with cancer is growing every day. Cancer is something that nearly every single person has been affected by, either directly or indirectly. Our hope is that, together, we can raise vital funds to help change people’s lives and have a lot of fun along the way.'

The partnership launched in May 2016 when all 140 Brantano stores went green for the week raising over £7,000. In total, Brantano is aiming to raise over £40‚000 during the first year of the partnership by organising its own in-store events such as telling children’s stories and dressing up as superheroes. It will also participate in World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and undertake various physical challenges to raise vital funds for people affected by cancer.

Rhys Parker‚ Partnerships Manager at Macmillan added: 'There are now an estimated 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK, rising to four million by 2030. At Macmillan we want to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer so we’re delighted Brantano has chosen us as their charity partner. We hope everyone gets involved with the activities planned to celebrate the launch of our partnership and will keep supporting Brantano as they raise funds for people affected by cancer. We look forward to seeing all the fun things the stores get up to.'
