When it comes to support, there's no competition. Here at Team Macmillan, we understand what it takes to train for and complete any running event, no matter what the distance. That's why we'll be there for you from the start with a dedicated marathon team providing both fundraising and training advice. We'll prepare you for the big day with our pre-event newsletters, cheer you every step of the way from our supporter points and be on hand with some well-deserved refreshments at the finish.
The fantastic route starts on Princes Street, passes through the historic Holyrood Park and then takes you along the beautiful coastline in Musselburgh, before finishing at the race course.
By putting on our green vest and becoming a proud part of Team Macmillan, you will be helping us to provide immediate practical, emotional, medical and financial support that will change the lives of people living with cancer in the UK today. You will also be joining the biggest, friendliest and most supportive team in the race.
'Thanks for all the support Team Macmillan gave up to the day and on the day. One lasting impression I was left with is on the way back at mile 22. I was running with a friend who pulled up short with a knee injury, just short of the Team Macmillan cheer area. As I looked to them I noticed a guy in the group; the cheers and words he gave me as I passed managed to put enough drive into me, to enable me to drive my friend on to the finish line at a running pace. Please could you pass on the greatest thanks to the difference that made to me on the day.' Mark, Edinburgh Marathon, Team Macmillan, 2007
