Enjoy a fun, family walk through Fairlands Valley Park, 120 acres of beautiful parkland situated in the heart of Stevenage. Along the way, you will be able to spot a wide variety of wildlife and wildfowl, and savour the tranquillity of the park's 11 acre sailing lake.

How to get there
From A1M, Junctions 6 or 7 follow the signs to Stevenage Town Centre. Enter onto Six Hills Way. Fairlands Valley Park is on the left, signed and clearly signposted with brown and white signage.

Open from 10.00am
The walk begins at 10.30am.
Walk duration
The three mile walk should take no longer than two hours to complete.

Suitability for pushchairs and/or wheelchairs
Yes, the ground at Fairlands Valley is reasonably flat.
Suitability for dogs
Dogs are welcome in the park, however because this is a family day it is requested all dogs are kept on a lead and under control.
Car parking
There is a car park available free of charge at the start of the walk.
Public transport
There are buses to Fairlands Valley Park from Stevenage Bus Station. Arriva Bus Numbers 4 or 5. You need to get off at Peartree Way. The park is a couple of minutes walk and clearly signposted.
Toilets
There are toilet facilities available at the start and finish of the walk.
Refreshments & picnicking
Bottles of water will be provided at the start of the walk. There is a café open at the start and finish point. A picnic area is available at the finish point, where the afternoon activities will take place (weather permitting). Please bring your own picnic and picnic rug.
Children's activities
There will be a quiz for children to take part in en-route. On completion of the three mile walk all children will be awarded with a certificate, followed by family fun and entertainment.
Don't forget to bring
Comfortable walking shoes and dress according to weather conditions.
Other information
There is a children's adventure play area and a climbing wall suitable for all ages as well as other fun family activities to join in with at the end of the walk.
