Rain drops and cliff tops: Peacehaven Abseil 2008

Despite the wind and the rain, the Peacehaven Abseil was a fantastic success this year, raising over £18,500 for local people affected by cancer.

Jess Edwards makes the drop!

On Saturday 9 August, more than 95 people faced their fears and made the 120ft drop down Peacehaven Cliffs to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Everyone had a great day out, despite being a little on the chilly side, but fortunately the Starbucks Coffee team were on hand top provide hot drinks for the participants.

Tris Jones, Sussex Fundraising Manager, spent the day dressed as a green frog just to keep warm:

'I'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part and everyone who supported the event. We raised a lot more this year than last and that's purely down to everyone's hard work with their fundraising. I'm already looking forward to next year's event and I will do my best to make sure the sun is shining!'

Next year's event will take place on Saturday 8 August 2009 (subject to confirmation), but you can pre-register your interest by sending an e-mail to: sussexabseil@macmillan.org.uk
