Staying on Track raises 6,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support
What a great surprise for the Staffordshire Community Fundraising Office when they received a call from Katie Mitchell, from Torrent Trackside, to say that she had a cheque for £6,000 to donate to Macmillan Cancer Support.
PA Katie Mitchell - Torrent Trackside, Beverley Smith - Macmilan and Richard Donald MD from Torrent Trackside
Torrent Trackside supply the widest range of specialist portable equipment in the UK for track repairs and maintenance, they support their aims by working all hours on both Network Rail and London Underground infrastructure.
However, they managed to spare a few hours to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. They organised a golf day, and asked staff to donate the money they would have spent on Christmas cards to their colleagues, alongside other charity events throughout the year.
Beverley Smith was delighted to accept this fantastic amount on behalf of Macmillan from Richard Donald, the Managing Director of Torrent Trackside, and his PA, Katie Mitchell.
