Spirit of Christmas Gift Fayre
Local Supporters raised a whopping £30,000 at the Spirit of Christmas Gift Fayre in aid of Macmillan Cancer Supports Milton Keynes Appeal on November 1st.
The event, held at Woburn Abbey Sculpture Galley, was the first of its kind. More than 50 small and independent businesses showcased the best the countryside has to offer, including handmade crafts, fashion, jewelry, and food.
Not only did supporters have a feast of festive delights to choose from but everyone that attended was put into a free prize draw to win two 5-star winter holidays.
After the fayre there was a gala evening, which included some fabulous entertainment including a member of the magic circle performing mesmerizing tricks, a chance to win an Audi by rolling six sixes and Andrew Castle from GMTV came along to support the event and draw the raffle for the two holidays.
Fundraising Manager for Macmillan, Rebecca Staden, said:
"This was one of Macmillan's biggest events this year in the county. It really was evident how much time and effort Lindsey Inchbald and the committee put into organising this prestigious event and I would to thank everyone who was involved for all their hard work. High profile events such as the Fayre not only provide reliable, substantial income for Macmillan, but also raise the profile of the charity in the local area, making more people aware of the services we provide."
The money raised at the event will help fund four local services, including a Macmillan Information and Support Manager and a Macmillan Upper-gastro Intestinal Nurse at Milton Keynes General Hospital.
