We believe the NHS and benefits system should take into account the specific needs of people having treatment for cancer, so that they do not have to personally bear the costs of potentially life-saving treatment. We want the health service to treat the patient, not just the disease, and we want to ensure that cancer stays a priority for the Government.
Whether they focus on raising public awareness, involve working with politicians, government officials or other decision makers, all our campaigns have one common goal – to make a positive and permanent change to the lives of people affected by cancer.
Macmillan is a UK-wide organisation and whilst the majority of our campaigns are relevant to England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales we sometimes campaign on issues that are relevant only to individual nations.

Prescription charges - tell us what you think
The Government is about to review the current system of prescription charges in England, and will be asking for public opinion.
We think prescription charges are a tax on illness and nobody in the UK should have to pay them.
Do you think prescriptions in England and Northern Ireland should be free? Have you ever chosen not to take a treatment because you couldn't afford the prescription?
