Now in its 22nd year, World's Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s flagship event. What's it like to be a Coffee Morning intern? Read on to find out.
Kate Whittle joined the Macmillan team as a Coffee Morning intern in 2010. She went on to get a job as a fundraising manager in Essex. Here Kate tells you what it's really like to be part of such a big event.
'Everything about my internship was brilliant. I have grown both personally and professionally and have gained invaluable skills and experience. Getting to know Macmillan’s supporters and volunteers and working with such an enthusiastic and professional fundraising team was second to none. 'I am passionate about the work that Macmillan do, and since my internship my enthusiasm has continued to grow. In the lead up to the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning there is real excitement in the air. I felt motivated and inspired as I knew I was part of something big helping people affected by cancer. 'The internship has exceeded my expectations and was a real asset in terms of helping me to secure a job. I would definitely recommend Macmillan’s internship scheme to anyone who might be considering it.'
