Get your school talking

Cancertalk Week is Macmillan’s annual awareness-raising week held at the end of January. We want schools up and down the country to get talking and help us raise awareness of a disease that affects us all.

Why take part?

By getting involved in activities during Cancertalk Week, you can increase pupils' awareness and understanding of cancer. Give your class the chance to learn the facts and ask questions about cancer so they are better able to cope if it affects them - now or in the future.

How to take part

Simply order your Talking about cancer toolkit and tick the box to tell us you plan to take part in Cancertalk Week. We’ll make sure you get more information and resources later this year and a certificate worthy of any notice board after the event.

Ways to get involved:

• use the Teaching about cancer toolkit to deliver curriculum-linked lessons about cancer
• hold a special assembly to raise awareness of cancer and how Macmillan supports those affected by the disease
• request a Macmillan representative to talk about the services we provide for people affected by cancer and how you can support us
• organise a fundraising event to help people affected by cancer.
