Macmillan hosted its first ‘Parliamentary Question Time’ on the 22 November 2012 in the House of Lords. The event brought together an audience of people affected by cancer and our expert panel of MPs, peers and cancer experts.
Channel 4 News’ Jon Snow chaired the debate, taking questions on a wide range of issues affecting cancer patients. Our expert panel included Baroness Jolly, Liberal Democrat Peer and Co-Chair of the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Committee on Health and Social Care; Baroness Morgan of Drefelin, Crossbench Peer and Chief Executive of Breast Cancer Campaign; Professor Jane Maher, Chief Medical Officer, Macmillan Cancer Support; and Virendra Sharma, Labour MP for Ealing Southall and Member of the Health Select Committee.
