Malcolm's wife, Monica, died in a hospice but he wishes she'd had the right support at home.
'Being a builder, I could do anything. Mend motor cars, whatever. But I couldn't do anything to save her.
'She loved gardening. Her bedroom looked out into the garden and there was a waterfall. We had goldfish and she virtually knew all the goldfish by name - all these things were part of her home.
'If there'd been continuity of medical support at home then that would have been an ideal situation. Then she wouldn't have agreed to go into the home. She would have had her family around her.
'I've had more support since she died than she had when she was dying. I've had counselling and calls. She had nothing, bless her.
'I wish she'd had the death she wanted.'
