This session discussed the role of the accountability frameworks in improving cancer outcomes in the new NHS in order to meet the government’s ambition to save 5,000 lives per year by 2014/15.
The session discussed the challenges of data capture in creating the right incentives for commissioning services, the opportunities and challenges for embedding effective commissioning processes, and the power of patients’ voices in shaping policy and practice across the whole cancer pathway.
