Whenever you are able to do the walk in 2012, however we advise that you walk in the Spring and Summer months to make the most of the longer hours of daylight and fairer weather conditions.

Anyone with a good level of fitness can walk The West Highland Way. The route is a great opportunity for meeting fellow walkers and like-minded people from around the globe. Walking the West Highland Way can be a very sociable and friendly experience.
You will be responsible for booking your own accommodation for the duration of your walk. For further information on where to stay visit The West Highland Way website|.

The West Highland Way is a realistic challenge for people of an average fitness level.

The weather in The West of Scotland can be very unpredictable and can change very quickly from one extreme to the other. For this reason, anyone planning to walk the Way should ensure that they are equipped to deal with all weathers.
The walk is physically challenging but keeps mainly to a well used path.
