or swimmers, and has grown in popularity so much so that there are now events all over the world. Including two UK based events, Ironman UK| and Inronman Wales|.
Athletes test their fitness, strength and most importantly their determination by swimming 2.4 miles, cycling 112 miles and running 26.2 miles to be crowned an Ironman. And if that isn't tough enough you'll need to cross the finish line within seventeen hours.
If you would prefer a shorter distance, or to gain experience before taking on the full distance, you can enter an Ironman 70.3, otherwise known as a Half Marathon. There are two to chose from in the UK, Ironman 70.3 UK| in Wimbleball and Ironman 70.3 Ireland| in Galway.
If you fancy going further afield, there are Ironman events all across the world. Some of the popular ones among UK participants are in Germany, France, Switzerland and Zurich.
