When it comes to support, there's no competition. Find out everything you need to know about entering, training and completing the Great London swim.
Entry to the 2013 event is now open. You can secure your place with the swim organisers at www.greatswim.org|. There's an entry fee of £39, which will be taken by credit/debit card when you apply. You'll then receive a confirmation email from the event organisers to confirm your place.
Once you've secured your own place join Team Macmillan online| and we’ll send you a pack containing lots of fundraising and training advice.
To apply for a guaranteed charity place, please fill out our application form| and return to us as soon as possible.
We aim to be in touch within three days to let you know if you have been successfu.
If you have your own place in the event, we do not ask for a minimum amount of sponsorship. However we encourage all swimmers to try and raise as much as possible.
If you secure a Macmillan guaranteed charity place we ask that you aim to raise £200, but your entry fee is covered.
Whatever you raise we are extremely grateful for and it will go a long way to helping people living with cancer.
When you join Team Macmillan you will be supported throughout your entire British Gas Great London Swim experience. In addition to our initial training and fundraising pack, we will send you regular newsletters full of tips to help you prepare for the big day. And if that isn’t enough, we will be there on the day to give you all the support, encouragement and congratulations you deserve.
Of course! When you sign up to swim the British Gas Great London Swim with Team Macmillan, we will provide you with a comprehensive training pack and regular newsletters full of top training tips, including advice from our Team Macmillan patrons. We will also advise you of other useful sources of information to help you prepare for the big day.
If you get injured while training we recommend you contact your GP, physio or specialist sports injury clinic. They will be able to advise if you are fit enough to swim.
If you do need to withdraw you will need to inform the Great Swim race organisers as soon as possible. Please also let Macmillan know so that we can update our database.
You will receive your race number direct from the race organisers in the two weeks preceding the event. If you do not receive your race pack, then we would advise you to contact the organisers direct by emailing info@greatswim.org|
Visit www.greatswim.org| for a map of the course, training info and much more.
