Sharon, 44, swam in the 2011 Great Scottish Swim for Macmillan after various friends and family were affected by cancer.
Although it wasn’t her first open water swimming event, she felt this was one of the best ones yet and found the whole experience exhilarating.
'I finished the swim and didn’t even know what my time was, but really enjoyed completing it.
'It’s a great feeling to have family, friends and Macmillan cheering you on at an event. When I look back, it’s definitely all been worth it.' Sharon completed the Great Scottish Swim in a fantastic 37 minutes 44 seconds and is now in search of her next event.
