How do I apply for a Macmillan guaranteed place? Back to top

To secure a Team Macmillan Guaranteed Place we ask you to pledge to raise a minimum of £375 in sponsorship for Macmillan Cancer Support. This is due in one month after the event.

To secure a place simply complete our Guaranteed Place Application Form| and return to us. We will then contact you to let you know if you have been successful.    

Do I have to raise a minimum sponsorship? Back to top

There is no minimum sponsorship requirement if you have your own place in the event. We simply ask you to raise as much as possible to enable Macmillan to help people living with cancer.

If you are running on a Macmillan guaranteed place the minimum sponsorship pledge will be £375 .

What kind of support will Macmillan give me? Back to top

When you join Team Macmillan| you will be supported throughout your entire Run to the Beat experience. In addition to our initial fundraising and training pack including a half marathon training guide, a fundraising guide and a sponsor form, we will send you regular newsletters full of tips to help you prepare for the big day. 

You’ll be supported every step of the way and we’ll give you the loudest support possible throughout the race at our Team Macmillan cheer points.

Will Macmillan help me with my training? Back to top

Of course! When you sign up to run the Run to the Beat with Team Macmillan| we’ll provide you with a comprehensive training pack and regular newsletters full of top training tips, including advice from our Team Macmillan patrons. We will also advise you of other useful sources of information to help you prepare for the big day.

What happens if I get injured? Back to top

If you or any of your team-mates get injured whilst training we recommend you contact your GP, physio or specialist sports injury clinic. They will be able to advise you if you are fit enough to run. 

If you do need to withdraw you will need to let the Run to the Beat event organisers know as soon as possible by emailing info@runtothebeat.co.uk|. Please also let Macmillan know so that we can advise you about transferring your place.
