Thank you again to all the runners for their amazing hard work, training and fundraising leading up to the 2010 Virgin London Marathon. Thanks to all the volunteers, Macmillan staff and outstanding cheerleaders for making this event such a brilliant success! We truly could not have done it without you!
There are lots of photos from the day in our Macmillan London Marathon Flickr group. If you have any great photos from this year's race, please send them to us at londonmarathon@macmillan.org.uk|. Or share your pics with other Team Macmillan runners and supporters by uploading them to our London Marathon Flickr group|.
Another huge thank you from the Events Team to each and every one of our runners for all of your wonderful support. Here is just some of the feedback we've received since the big day:
Completing a marathon was a life long ambition, the Macmillan team gave me so much more support than I expected, having hundreds of people on your team - cheering you round the course made the day unforgettable! Tim Young For me the real unexpected benefit was all the support and kindness I experienced from people through the whole of my training, fundraising and the race. I have made new friends and cemented existing friendships as everyone is so keen to support your effort and the charity. It really has been very heart-warming and a great experience. Amber Nicholls The team are brilliantly supportive on the run up to the day and the support when running in a Macmillan shirt gives you the most amazing boost and encouragement. Jim Smith Macmillan are very supportive, they will help in anyway they can and they make you feel like part of the team. The support on the day of the marathon was priceless and really kept me going. Clare Neville If you want a charity that will help you reach your goals whilst raising money for a good cause, there is no better charity than Macmillan. They're there for everything you need before, during and after the race! Simon Lynch This has been a huge personal challenge which has resulted in great fitness and focus in my life. If you want to embrace the feeling of a team and a family then join Team Macmillan. Natalie Clarke If you want really good support and encouragement from the day you join team Macmillan to the recovery centre at the end of the run. Not only is it a great charity, it's a fantastic team. Thank you Team Macmillan. Rachael 'Bashie' Shaw Raising money for Macmillan is such a worthy cause but coupled with the support and the cheer points makes the Macmillan team a first class choice. Hilary Stephenson I believe you are by far the best charity to run for - 820 runners says it all! Darren Lillie This is the most inclusive charity I know in terms of the work it does and the most supportive I know in terms of its fundraisers. If you want a challenge, if you want to stretch yourself, Macmillan will help you do this while you can help others in the process! Mark Williamson The team. Everyone at Macmillan are dedicated to what they are doing and go out of their way to make you feel like you are doing something special to help. Michael Jones Helping a Team Macmillan member over the line after being helped by Team Macmillan runners throughout. We held each others arms aloft, very moving! Kevin Hibbert Running up to mile 23 I felt like I didn't know how I would manage another 3 miles then all of a sudden the Macmillan supporters saw me and deafening cheers and shouts for 'Clare' brought me to tears. All of these strangers were shouting and cheering for me telling me that I could do, and they made me believe that I could. Amazing! Clare Neville Once again the support received at the Recovery Centre made me feel like royalty. To get a cheer by everyone in that huge room just showed how much it meant to them. Macmillan have really shown their true colours this weekend and I have to say they are one of the (if not the) most amazing charity out there. The location of the recovery centre was perfect, the atmosphere and refreshments were perfect and the massage was perfect...there's not a great deal more I can say but PERFECT! Justin Molloy
