We strongly recommend that you apply for a place as soon as the ballot opens due to the high volume of entries this ballot will close within a matter of days. Simply visit www.virginlondonmarathon.com| and click on Enter the Race.
You would have been given the opportunity to pre-enter the ballot for the 2014 Virgin London Marathon via an email link that was sent directly to you from London Marathon organiser.
Please note, London Marathon have advised that due to the significant increase in applications since the ballot entry system went online, they are unable to continue to offer this opportunity in future years and will phase out the offer of a guaranteed place over the next four years.
Ballot results will be announced in October 2013. If you are successful in securing a place, we would love to have you as part of Team Macmillan. You'll be able to sign up for Team Macmillan online here once the ballot has closed.
You can apply for a Team Macmillan Golden Bond place, for which we ask for a minimum sponsorship pledge of £2,000 (not including Gift Aid). Simply complete and return the application form| as soon as possible. We will begin allocating our Golden Bond places following the results of the official London Marathon ballot, which will be announced at the beginning of October 2013.

We ask that all our charity guaranteed place (golden bond) runners pledge to raise a minimum of £2,000 (not including Gift Aid). This will be due ONE month after the event (May 2014). Of course, we'll give you all the encouragement and support you need to smash that target.
Your 'own place' means that you have registered online for the 2014 Virgin Money London Marathon Official Entry Ballot directly through the Virgin London Marathon website| . Plus you would have paid an entry fee directly to Virgin Money London Marathon organisers.
When the official entry ballot results are announced during the first week of October, you will have receive a letter from Virgin Money London Marathon stating that you have a place in the marathon together with an Accepted Magazine. If this is the case, congratulations - we'd be delighted to have you as a proud part of Team Macmillan.| You can join Team Macmillan online now.|
A Team Macmillan guaranteed place means that you have applied directly to us for a charity place. If you are successful, you will receive written confirmation from Macmillan with your fundraising and training pack.

When you join Team Macmillan you will be supported throughout your entire Virgin London Marathon experience. In addition to our fundraising and training pack, we will send you regular newsletters full of tips to help you prepare for the big day.
We will also invite you to our pre-race pasta party the night before and our post-race recovery centre after the marathon, where you'll receive a well-deserved leg massage. And if that isn't enough, we'll give you the loudest support possible throughout the race from our six supporter points.
Of course! When you sign up to join Team Macmillan we'll provide you with a comprehensive training pack, which has training programmes for beginner, intermediate and advanced runners. Plus we'll send you regular newsletters full of top training tips, including advice from our Team Macmillan patrons. We will also tell you about lots of other useful sources of information to help you prepare for the big day.
If you get injured while training we recommend you contact your GP, physio or specialist sports injury clinic. They will be able to advise you on whether you are fit to run. If you do need to withdraw from the race, you will need to let the Virgin London Marathon race organisers know as soon as possible. Please also let Macmillan know so that we can advise you about transferring your place.
At the beginning of April 2014, you'll receive your Official programme directly from the marathon organisers together with your registration form. This package will include full details about the Virgin London Marathon exhibition, which you'll need to attend to pick up your race number. The exhibition will take place the week of the marathon from the Wednesday-Saturday.
