Questions about running the 2012 Bath Half Marathon? Find answers to all the most common queries below.
General public entry for the Bath Half Marathon closed once the event limit was reached at the end of 2011.
Public entry for the 2013 event will open immediately after the 2012 event. For more information please visit www.bathhalf.co.uk.|
If you do get your own place directly through the race organisers, we would love to have you as part of Team Macmillan and there is no minimum sponsorship pledge.

You can also secure a place in the Bath Half Marathon through one of our Charity Golden Bond Places. To enter on a Golden Bond place you will need to fill in an application form| and return it to us using the contact details on the right hand side of this page. The deadline for regsitering runners in the Bath Half has now passed.
We ask you to raise a minimum sponsorship amount of £250 for your Team Macmillan guaranteed place. Please note that Gift Aid cannot be included towards the above sponsorship amount.
These are guaranteed places that Macmillan Cancer Support have purchased directly from the Bath Half Marathon race organisers (Running High). We require you to complete a Team Macmillan guaranteed place application form for one of these places. Download a Golden Bond application form here.|
Macmillan has paid the £42.55 entry fee on your behalf for these places in return for a pledge to raise a minimum £250. However, if you are able to pay this yourself it will ensure that all of your sponsorship can go directly towards helping people living with cancer. If every person who is allocated a guaranteed place pays their entry fee it will make a difference of over £2,500.
If you wish to pay this you can simply enclose a cheque for £42.55 payable to Macmillan Cancer Support Trading Ltd, or call us on 020 7840 4915 to pay over the phone.
Your 'own place' means that you have entered the online system for the 2012 Bath Half Marathon directly through the Bath Half Marathon website, www.bathhalf.co.uk|. Plus you will have paid an entry fee directly to Running High, the Bath Half Marathon race organisers.
Once your place has been confirmed in the Bath Half Marathon by the race organisers, we'd be delighted for you to join Team Macmillan. Simply fill in our online form|.
There is no minimum sponsorship for own place runners, we simply ask you to raise as much as possible! Check out our fundraising ideas|.
We ask that all our guaranteed charity place runners raise a minimum of £250 (not including Gift Aid). This will be due in one month after the event. Of course we'll give you all the encouragement and support you'll need to make sure you smash this target.
If you have your own place, we just ask that you raise as much as possible and we'll provide you with the same level of care and support that all our runners receive.
When you join Team Macmillan you will be supported throughout your entire Bath Half Marathon experience.
In addition to our initial fundraising pack and training guide, we will send you regular newsletters full of tips to help you prepare for the big day.
You will also be invited to our post-race Team Macmillan tent, where you will receive a huge congratulations on completing the big race, lots of pampering and a selection of refreshments.
And if that isn't enough, we will give you the loudest support possible throughout the race from our famous Macmillan cheer points.
Of course! When you sign up to run the Bath Half Marathon with Team Macmillan we will provide you with a comprehensive half marathon training guide which has a 16-week training programme plus we'll send you regular newsletters full of top training tips, including advice from our Team Macmillan patrons. We will also advise you of other useful sources of information to help you prepare for the big day.
If you get injured while training we recommend you contact your GP, physio or specialist sports injury clinic. They will be able to advise you if you are fit enough to run.
If you do need to withdraw you will need to let the Bath Half Marathon race organisers (Running High) know as soon as possible. Please also let Macmillan know so that we can advise you about transferring your place.
Your race day pack will be sent to you directly from the Bath Half Marathon Race Organisers, Running High, approximately two weeks prior to race day. This pack contains the official race programme, your race number and timing chip.
