Met by a stunning backdrop and hibiscus flowers champagne cocktails, guests were welcomed into an enchanted escape from the real world when they entered the newly refurbished Savoy to attend Macmillan’s Enchanted Ball.
With music from Anna Abraham’s Jazz Quartet in the Champagne reception and Sav the Deceptionist wowing guests with his intriguing magic skills, the evening was set to be a roaring success.
Guests took part in the enchanted tree of life to win an array of fabulous prizes ranging from luxury food hampers, Georgio Armani gift sets and a year’s supply of Green and Blacks chocolate, to a three course dinner with wine at the Waldorf Astoria, an overnight stay at The Sanderson, and membership of the exclusive Kitts nightclub.
Having been suitably wowed by the Champagne reception guests enjoyed locating their tables in the opulent Lancaster Ballroom as they looked for their aptly named tables including Secret Garden, Pelennor Fields, Fangorn Forest and Lothlorian.
From there the night just got better and better. With the dulcet tones of Diva during dinner, guests bid frantically on the silent auction for luxury holidays, weekend breaks, sporting memorabilia, and spa breaks.
With a grand prize draw to win an amazing enchanted escape to Thailand including business class flights, and a live auction with star prizes such as a date with top male supermodel David Gandy, dinner at the opening night of Heston Blumenthal’s new restaurant and a Fabergé Egg there was something for everyone.
The evening culminated in a fantastic surprise performance by celebrity soul singer Beverley Knight who had all the guests up and dancing at their tables ready to dance the night away.
