Fashion Kicks 2012 was a spectacular night of fashion, football, food and fabulous entertainment!
Fashion Kicks, hosted by premiership footballer Shay Given and his wife Jane, is a spectacularly glamorous occasion not to be missed. 700 guests attend, including Celebrities, Sport Personalities and Heads of Industry. Fashion Kicks 2012 raised over £200,000 for Macmillan, Beechwood Cancer Care and Chef’s Adopt a School Programme.
On Tuesday 1 May 2012 guests arrived ready to watch their fellow footballers take to the catwalk for the Selfridges Fashion Show and mingle with the celebrity guests.
The evening proceeded to impress with a lavish dinner and entertainment from dance group Prodijig and freestyle footballer Andrew Henderson. Macmillan’s CancerVoice, James Golding, silenced the 700 guests with an incredibly inspiring speech of his journey and strength and Phil Whelan, our very own Macmillan Nurse, also received a huge amount of support from the crowd.
The charity auction saw some incredibly generous bidders, spurred on by the energetic auctioneer Jonny Gould. Guests competed for the amazing prizes to be won with Vincent Kompany battling for X Factor Final tickets and Chris O’Dowd showed his determination to win VIP Finale Westlife tickets!
Our guests were then privileged enough to experience an intimate performance from A List boyband Westlife as they treated Fashion Kicks supporters to their final show before their last ever tour and their final charity gig ever.
Thank you to everyone involved in Fashion Kicks, particularly to the founders Jane and Shay Given and their right hand man John Stevenson, for their unlimited enthusiasm to help raise £200,000 for Macmillan, Beechwood Cancer Care and Chef’s Adopt a School Programme, and also to all our prize donors – we couldn’t have done it without you!
With the combination of fabulous food, fashion, footballers and amazing entertainment from Westlife, we’re confident that Fashion Kicks 2012 will be our best ever! We’re hoping to raise another £200,000 this year so that Macmillan can reach and support more people. Shay Given, Premiership Footballer and Macmillan Patron
