Nesta Lloyd Jones
Unlike other New Year’s resolutions to eat less chocolate, give up alcohol or join the gym, Nesta Lloyd-Jones has set herself a more gruelling challenge: the Blenheim triathalon.
Nesta has many reasons for taking on the challenge saying ‘I enjoy swimming, cycling and running so a 750m swim, 20km bike and 6km run sounds like fun to me. I want something to aim for so that I go out and get fit even if it means 6am starts. And I wanted to give something back to Macmillan.’
Nesta knows from personal experience about the fantastic work that Macmillan does across Wales and last year she joined the Macmillan Wales team as policy officer. Since then she has helped with fundraising events including Gower Macmarathon and coffee morning.
She adds ‘Working for Macmillan has helped me see even more the significant impact that we have on people affected by cancer so it was an easy decision to take part for Macmillan. My pack and green vest arrived this week, so the hard work starts now and hopefully I can inspire other people to support Macmillan.’
