The UK’s largest private sector accredited training provider for professional Internal Auditors, BHBi, has donated £1,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support.
BHBi’s Managing Director, Mark Barnes pictured, presented a cheque to Rebecca Parke in Cardiff recently. Mark said, 'We are delighted to have made a £1,000 donation to such a worthwhile charity on behalf of all our Internal Audit students. We plan to continue building our relationship with Macmillan throughout 2013, as part of our social responsibility.'
Rebecca Parke, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support said ‘I want to say a huge thank you to everyone at BHBi for choosing to support Macmillan Cancer Support by raising funds with a donation from student enrolments. Macmillan relies almost entirely on donations so the £1,000 raised really will make a huge difference to people affected by cancer. We are looking forward to working with you all in 2013.’
The donation came as a result of a training course discussion with students during a module on Corporate Social Responsibility. Following a class debate, BHBi staff decided that there was an opportunity for the company to make a bigger difference and show that BHBi and the Internal Audit community can make an impact on wider society. Macmillan was chosen because of the excellent compassionate work that it does, which touches many people’s lives throughout the UK.
BHBi will continue making donations and plans to get started on other activities for Macmillan, which will involve BHBi staff, students, and professional Internal Audit colleagues.
