Lou Stewart, 36 and Lou Micklewright, 30, both from London, faced freezing temperatures on Saturday 8 January to complete the 5km Great Winter Run in aid of Macmillan.
The Londoners play for women’s 7’s rugby team Moody Cows, which is a charity based rugby 7s team. Since the loss of Kay Booker, former captain, the girls have dedicated each tournament result to Kay’s memory and have spent much time and effort both on and off the pitch raising awareness for Macmillan. The Macmillan logo features on all of their kit showing the Moody Cows’ support for this incredible charity, which helped Kay and her family throughout her battle with breast cancer.
Lou and Lou completed the race in an excellent 31 minutes and have managed to fundraise over £300. The team is now training for the London to Brighton cycle ride this summer in aid of Macmillan.
We wish them all the best and thank them all again for supporting Macmillan.
