Volunteers from the Mary Erskine and Stewart's Melville Junior School were presented with an award from Macmillan Cancer Support after raising £827.
Students, staff and parents from the Mary Erskine and Stewart's Melville Junior School were presented with an award after raising a massive £827 with their World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. This is the largest amount raised by any school in the Edinburgh area.
Jayne Forbes, Fundraising Manager for Edinburgh presented the award. She said: “Well done to Mary Erskine and Stewart's Melville Junior School for raising such a wonderful sum for Macmillan Cancer Support.
“We had a great response to our World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and managed to raise over £75,000 in the Edinburgh area and an amazing £9 million UK wide.
“It’s really great to see communities pulling together and having fun while raising money to help Macmillan provide vital services for people living with cancer.
“We help people in many ways, from specialist nurses and doctors, to help and advice for people who have financial worries.
“None of this would be possible without our supporters.”
