Start your day the Macmillan way
Fiona Phimester’s breakfasts definitely brought home the bacon, raising thousands of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
On 12 November 2011, Fiona organised Bacon Buttie Breakfast mornings across the UK in memory of her mother.
From Inverness to Limavady, Aberdeen to Reading, thirteen breakfasts were held by fourteen friends throughout the country, raising an impressive £4,215 for Macmillan.
As well as serving up bacon rolls, the fourteen dedicated ladies held home-bake coffee mornings, hot lunches and raffles. Fiona said: ‘Everyone put in an amazing effort. Each person arranging an event was a close friend of my mum's, so it was a great way to remember a wonderful lady.’
Shannon Hindmarch, Fundraising Manager, said: ‘Fiona was such a pleasure to communicate with and I love her enthusiasm. When she got in touch after her Bacon Buttie Breakfasts to tell me the total that was raised, I was absolutely floored!
'What an amazing result, and what a difference it will make to people affected by cancer. A huge thank-you to everyone who hosted a breakfast and to all that attended.’
Fiona plans to hold Bacon Buttie Mornings again in 2012, and we wish her the best of luck.
