Tennis Scotland is encouraging their 220 member clubs across the country to hold a Wimbledon open day in aid of Macmillan this year.
Scotland’s governing body for Tennis has been working in partnership with Macmillan since the beginning of 2012 and aims to raise funds, as well as encourage more people to play tennis.
Wimbledon takes place between 24 June and 7 July and clubs are encouraged to hold an open day with some simple fundraising activities such as a barbeque, cardio tennis session or a parent child competition.
Tennis Scotland Chief Executive, David Marshall, said, 'We would be delighted to hear from any clubs in Scotland who are interested in supporting Macmillan through a Wimbledon Open Day, or another fundraising event. The event doesn’t have to be complicated and we can offer lots of support to help you on your way. We’d like to raise as much funds as possible to help fund Macmillan’s wonderful services.'
