The Centre is presented their award by Macmillan’s Chief Executive, Ciaran Devane.
Staff, patients and volunteers at the North Highland Cancer Information & Support Centre have received a prestigious national award. The centre, which provides a confidential service offering emotional support and information, has been awarded the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark.
The award is the first of its kind in the UK. It recognises and rewards good practice and high standards within the physical environment of a cancer care building. The North Highland Cancer Information & Support Centre is among only 15 sites in Scotland to be given the award, which has been developed in collaboration with people living with cancer and organisations including the NHS.
The Centre provides emotional support and information about treatments and services to anyone affected by cancer in the Thurso, Caithness and North of Scotland areas.
