Wolfson Microelectronics plc has raised over £3,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support by hosting a fundraising raffle at the company’s Christmas party in the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) last month.
The cheque for £3,200 was presented to Jayne Forbes, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, at Wolfson’s Edinburgh headquarters.
Jen Suttie, Senior HR Business Partner at Wolfson Microelectronics, said: 'The fundraising raffle was a big success and we are delighted to provide this donation to Macmillan Cancer Support to help fund the vital work they do to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.'
Wolfson Microelectronics plc is a global leader in the supply of high performance, mixed-signal semiconductor devices and audio solutions to the consumer electronics market. In the home, in the office and on the move, Wolfson’s innovative technology can be found at the heart of many of the world’s leading digital consumer goods, including premier hi-fi equipment, mobile phones, tablet computers, MP3 players, flat panel TVs, digital still cameras and portable navigation devices.
Through their fundraising, Wolfson Microelectronics plc will be providing invaluable support to Macmillan and those we help. Jayne Forbes, Macmillan Fundraising Manager, said: 'We are very grateful to everyone at Wolfson for raising this fantastic amount. It could pay for a Macmillan Information Centre, like the one at the Western General, to be stocked with the information resources it needs to support people affected by cancer for a year. We help people in many ways, from specialist nurses and doctors, to help and advice for people who have financial worries. None of this would be possible without our supporters.'
