A terminally ill brewer has created his final beer - Brewers Swansong - to be served at his funeral.
Retired industry veteran Ian Turnbull decided to create his final brew in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support after being diagnosed with prostate cancer a year ago. The 61 year old, who has been in the industry for 40 years and created more than 200 beers, produced his so called ‘to die for’ beer to be served to friends and family at his funeral.
'There will come a time when I will need the care of Macmillan nurses,' said Turnbull. I thought it would be an innovative and enjoyable way of raising money for them as a thank you in advance. I wanted to go out with a bang. You need to have a sense of humour at a time like this. It will be branded as a beer to die for on the label.'
