Northern Ireland firm Bryson Recycling is donating £1 for every tonne of waste collected from its kerbside boxes to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The campaign started December 2010 and will run to March next year.
Launching the '£ a tonne' campaign Claire McCallum, Communications Manager at Bryson Recycling said, 'We are proud to be supporting Macmillan with this year’s “£ a tonne” recycling campaign. Cancer affects most families in NI, so we hope to provide valuable assistance to Macmillan in its work in supporting people and their families.'
Claire Brown, Macmillan Fundraising Manager said, 'The funds raised from this campaign will go towards helping 55,000 people in NI living with cancer. Macmillan Cancer Support receives no government funding and therefore relies heavily on the support of the local community to sustain services.'
