The band will be supporting Macmillan through album sales
A local band are donating profits from their newest single to Macmillan.
Oracle are a Pop/Rock band that formed in Northern Ireland. The band was founded by neighbours David McClean and Brian Mellors.
The single entitled The Underlying Flame has been released to help raise funds for local people who are living with caner.
Lead singer David McCelan said, 'Each of us have had family members who have been affected by cancer and Macmillan have been there to help us along the way. We just felt that it was time to give something back.
'I can’t run marathons or bake cakes, but what we thought we could do is to give something back through our music.'
Oracle have just released their debut EP entitled Jewels of the Sky which is available via iTunes, Amazon and all major download retailers.
Fundraising Manager, Julie Campbell commented, '55,000 people are living with cancer in Northern Ireland and Macmillan is there every step of the way to help support those people and their families. We’re overjoyed that Oracle have chosen to support our work and we wish them the very best of luck with the album.'
Three tracks on the EP were recently selected from over 5,000 entries to reach the finals of the UK Songwriters Contest 2010.
The bands current lineup consists of David McClean (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Brian Mellors (Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals), Chris Logan (Lead Guitar) and Peter McNally (Drums).
