Balloon launch at Fairhill Shopping Centre
Fairhill Shopping Centre raised a staggering £11,900 for local cancer patients in 2010.
Macmillan Cancer Support would like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff, customers and management of Fairhill Shopping Centre who generously gave their time, skills and money to raise £11,900 for local cancer patients throughout 2010.
All of the money raised by Fairhill Shopping Centre is being used to help fund the building costs of the new Specialist Palliative Care Unit currently being built at Antrim Area Hospital. The new unit will service cancer patients and their families within the Northern Health Board area.
Maria McGleenon Fundraising Manager for Macmillan, 'It has been an absolute pleasure working with Fairhill Shopping Centre in 2010. The staff and customers have been extremely supportive of Macmillan and have generously contributed to all events held at the centre.'
'I would also like to say a huge thank you to the local fundraising group who have continuously collected and helped at events in the centre on Macmillan’s behalf.'
Natalie Jackson from Fairhill, 'On behalf of Fairhill Shopping Centre and Fairhill Traders Association, it has been a pleasure assisting Macmillan throughout 2010 to help raise much needed funds for such a worthy cause. It is our objective to ensure that Fairhill Shopping Centre maintains the same standard of support given to Macmillan Cancer in 2011. I would like to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude to those people who have supported our charity of the year by participating and raising sponsorship for many of the events held at the centre.'
There are lots of exciting events happening throughout 2011 that we hope the staff and customers of Fairhill will be involved in including a Fashion Show on Saturday 26 March, a Children’s Abseil event on Saturday 25 June, the Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning on 30 September and various other fun activities.
