Heather Monteverde and Northern Ireland Health Minister Michael McGimpsey MLA
Health Minister Michael McGimpsey has officially opened the new Breast and Endocrine Centre at the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald.
The Minister said:
' We in the health service greatly value the contribution that Macmillan Cancer Support carries out in Northern Ireland. The contribution which Macmillan has provided for the new Breast and Endocrine Unit, is a small part of the totality of the work which Macmillan provides to people affected by cancer, and is much appreciated.'
Heather Monteverde, said:
'We are pleased to be working with the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust to develop services for people affected by cancer. 'When someone is diagnosed with cancer, it is important they receive the best treatment in the most supportive environment. This is why Macmillan has invested money and expertise in this fantastic new building which will make such a difference. 'In addition to the £350,000 Macmillan has invested in this building, I am pleased to announce that we plan to develop a cancer information and support service, as well as a new financial advice service, over the next six months.'
