Macmillan Cancer Support would like to say a massive thank you to Fairhill Shopping Centre and its Traders Association for their support over the past 3 years of their charity partnership and for raising the incredible amount of £37,500 to help local cancer patients.
Fundraising Manager Maria McGleenon said, 'The traders, customers and management of Fairhill Shopping Centre have been exceptionally supportive and generous to Macmillan since our partnership began 3 years ago. The incredible amount of money they have raised has helped hundreds of local cancer patients and their families and on their behalf I say thank you!
'It has been an absolute pleasure working alongside everyone at Fairhill - I, my colleagues and our local fundraising group have really enjoyed all of the events that we have helped with over the years (childrens abseils, easter colouring competitions, christmas wrapping and the various fashion shows). I would also like to say a huge thank you to all our wonderful local volunteers who have helped with this partnership. All of the money Fairhill has raised has been used at our Specialist Palliative Care Unit at Antrim Area Hospital.
'Not only has this partnership raised lots of money for Macmillan, it has also hugely lifted our profile in the Ballymena and surrounding area and we are now well recognised and loved by the general public throughout the area. We would like to wish Fairhill and any subsequent charitiies working with them all the very best and continued success for the future.'
Natalie Jackson, Fairhill Commercial and Marketing Manager said: 'Fairhill Shopping Centre and Fairhill Traders Association are very proud to have been a part of such a great project and success story. It has been an absolute honour to raise money for this worthy cause and to be involved in a big element of Ballymena’s understanding of the work carried out by Macmillan Cancer Support.'
