A welcome £100 fuel allowance will be issued to cancer patients
Macmillan is delighted to announce that after years of campaigning, the Stormont Assembly has confirmed a £100 fuel payment to be issed for cancer patients.
This payment will be made in February 2012. Those who qualify for the payout include any cancer patients who had surgery between 13 June and 18 December 2011, as well as any who underwent radiotherapy, chemotherapy or palliative care during the same period.
A letter will be sent to cancer patients in the early part of February if they qualify for the fuel contribution. A helpline will also be set up during February for those affected to find out more: 028 9032 1313.
