Trish accepts the award
A Macmillan Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, has two reasons to celebrate. She is retiring from nursing after a long career including 13 years as a Macmillan nurse. She has also been awarded the Henry Garnett Award, given to Macmillan nurses with long and meritorious service.
Kelly Whitehouse, Macmillan Fundraising Manager, who presented Trish with the award in front of her colleagues and friends at an event at Worcestershire Royal Hospital said: ‘We congratulate Trish on being awarded the Henry Garnett Award for long and meritorious service.'
'She is the only Macmillan nurse in Macmillan’s Central and South West England Region to receive this prestigious award so far in 2011.
'She has been given this award in recognition of the work she has put into creating and developing an excellent team of palliative care nurses in Worcester, ensuring that people with cancer receive the best possible care right up until the end of their life.'
'We at Macmillan would also like to wish Trish a long and happy retirement.’
