A big cheque from Marie Bush and friends at Corsham Cricket Club
On Tuesday 19 July, Polly Bishop of Macmillan Cancer Support, Wiltshire was presented with a cheque for £850 by Marie Bush and friends at Corsham Cricket Club.
The money was raised at a Fun Day during which a 20/20 overs match was played with teams made up from the club and friends with tennis balls used instead of cricket balls.
Marie organised the event and decided to raise money for Macmillan for a couple of reasons: 'Macmillan helped my family when my mother died of lung cancer and I have always wanted to give something back.'
'Working with Jane Dale and Annie Muldoon, Macmillan Nurses at Bath RUH, I have seen first-hand what a difference they make to the lives of people living with cancer. This made me more determined than ever to raise money.'
