We ‘Completed’ the West Yorkshire Business Challenge

Earlier this year, Macmillan invited companies from the West Yorkshire area to try and turn £20 into as much as they could using their own initiative.

Complete Office Solutions of Ossett set to work firstly by organising a bring and buy a bun sale, followed by a weekly ‘bonus ball’ competition where proceeds were split between the winners and the charities. Staff then decided to go for something a little more challenging and got together to walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks. To date they have raised over £600, with money still coming in. Some colleagues completed all three peaks, others did just one, but together they won the challenge and made a very real difference to people affected by cancer in the area.

Maria Amos, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan in the WF District said: 'I went to present the certificate and winners t-shirt to the team at Complete Office and was really touched by their motivation and determination – and also delighted to hear that they intend to do it all again for us next year. As we speak, they are making their plans for our biggest fundraising event of the year – The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – so from an initial amount of £20, they really have worked wonders for Macmillan.'
