Fundraising manager, Hayley Cooke accepts cheque from Mannington Stainton.
Local estate agents, Manning Stainton, raised a huge £70,000 for Macmillan last year.
Managing Director Russell Manning announced last weekend that the team had smashed the original target of £50,000, the amount required to fund a Macmillan nurse for one year following a year of fundraising activity throughout the Manning Stainton team.
The entire company, their family, friends and many clients took part in a huge range of events from raffles to car boots or zumbathons. There were also larger events including golf days and race nights. The highlight of the year though, was the Fashion Show at Mercedes Stratstone supported by so many local shops and businesses which raised over £5000.
Russell Manning, Managing Director commented, ‘This is an outstanding achievement and one which the whole team at Manning Stainton can be very proud of.’
He added, ‘none of this would have been possible without the support of the local communities and businesses all of whom have been with us on this journey’.
After being presented with a cheque for £70,000 at the recent awards dinner, local Fundraising Manager for Macmillan, Hayley Cooke remarked,
‘We are so grateful to Manning Stainton ...they have taken us into the heart of their communities and we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered, dressed up, collected and donated throughout 2012.'
