After nearly a year of planning and six months of dedicated training and fundraising, the Deloitte Ride Across Britain (RAB) is finally over.
The Cintas partners and customers taking part have exceeded all expectations by not only having the courage to each accept the 300+ mile Corporate Relay challenge, but by taking on the ride with such amazing determination and passion.
One of Cintas’ General Managers John Walker became the only Cintas Partner to complete the entire 963 miles after enjoying the first leg so much he decided to continue to Land’s End:
'Was it hard? Yes, the hardest thing I have ever done as it just keeps on going. Was it enjoyable? Not all the time of course, but as an overall experience, it was one of the best things I have ever been involved in. I met some great people, and we got over our obstacles together.'
Cintas has been fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support and Help for Heroes in the run up to the Deloitte Ride Across Britain, the two charities chosen by their partners. They have taken part in dress down days and bake sales and got all of their branches across the UK involved.
So far they have raised over £2,000, with the final total to be confirmed at the end of this month.
Clara White, Fundraising Manager for Leeds at Macmillan said, 'It has been so fantastic to have the support of Cintas and to help them with their fundraising. I am massively impressed with everyone who took part in the ride and how well all the staff got behind them to show their support. Well done!'
