Rick and Ann from Moseley are upping the challenge factor in their next fundraiser with this ‘canalathon’.
In 2011 Rick and Ann raised over £20,000 by walking the length of the Grand Union canal with groups of around ten people. This time the aim is to divide the Birmingham Navigation System (more miles of canal than Venice, it is said) into five and ten mile stretches and have them walked by groups of ten, at approximately the same time on Sunday 5 May all in aid of Macmillan.
