This year Christmas tree’s across Birmingham and the Black Country were again dedicated to the Macmillan Cancer Support Tree of Thought campaign.
This event saw supporters across the area sponsoring a light on the remembrance tree for a loved one who cannot be with them at Christmas. This year’s tree campaign raised over £8k for people affected by cancer.
This amount of money will pay for professionals to reach over 500 people affected by cancer, to help make the most difficult time of their lives, that little bit more easier.
Macmillan Cancer Support provides practical, medical, emotional and financial support for people affected by cancer. They are a force for change for better cancer care, and can only reach one in two people with their services at the moment.
This years Tree of Thought campaign has helped Macmillan move that bit closer to reaching their ambition of reaching everyone affected.
Cat Yates, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan said, ‘We would like to thank everyone who kindly gave Macmillan a donation as part of the Tree of Thought campaign. It’s a wonderful way not only to remember a loved one at Christmas but also to help support others that are deeply worried about a loved one at what should be an enjoyable time of year.’
