Dig Deep @ Nuvo raises over £2000 for Macmillan

Des has organised a number of successful fundraising events for various good causes

Des Witter by day is a busy personal trainer with his colleagues at Virgin Active Gym at Birmingham‘s Broadway Plaza. By night he is using even more energy organising amazing fundraising events for a variety of good causes!

This year, along with his friends, family and work colleagues it was decided that they would support Macmillan Cancer Support for their next event, Dig Deep @ NUVO. ‘Two years ago I came up with a way to raise money by organising a party at a local bar, I put on a DJ and charged for a ticket, all this money was raised for charity. At this first party 40 people attended. I’m now on my seventh party and with some help from my friends and work colleagues over 225 people attended.’

This year was the first time that Des did not solely work with a children’s charity, he was so impressed by the work that Macmillan Cancer Support does for people affected by cancer that he decided to turn his event green.

This year’s event took place on Friday 25 March at NUVO bar in Brindley Place Birmingham and raised over £2000. Des and Macmillan would very much like to thank all those that helped make the event a great success. He is currently planning part two of the event also in aid of Macmillan, particularly to celebrate the centenary. So watch out on the Macmillan local website for more information.
