Tom and Mark get ready to set off on their incredible journey
Tom Yates and Mark Hill, two friends from the West Midlands, took up the challenge of a lifetime by cycling from Birmingham to Paris and have raised over £2000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Setting off from Sutton Coldfield, it took them an incredible 36 hours and 45 minutes in the saddle, over 6 days, to reach Paris.
Mark and Tom only suffered one tyre puncture and despite encountering some hair raising roads, the trip was declared a resounding success. They even found time to keep their friends and family informed of their progress by updating their entertaining blog|.
We would like to offer our warmest thanks to Tom and Mark for undertaking this cycling challenge and raising such a fantastic amount. The money that they have raised will go a long way towards improving the lives of people affected by cancer.
