For over a decade Joyce Rothschild and friend Yasmi Roberts have devised a novel quiz to raise money for people affected by cancer.
Now in its 14th year, producing teaser questions and head scratching facts and figures, over £55,000 has been raised for Macmillan Cancer Support. A phenomenal amount for such an activity!
The quiz which appeals to all generations can be viewed and downloaded from Joyce’s own website page www.joycerothschild.co.uk| Once saved all they ask is that a donation is made to their justgiving website www.justgiving.com/joyces-quiz-2010|
Previous supporters have then sold on the quiz for a donation to colleagues, friends and family to raise even more money, perhaps using it as an activity on Christmas Day or to take to groups and associations for a fun night of laughter.
‘When we started we thought we might just raise a couple of hundred pounds’ Joyce said, ‘and then it just took off, and now we have a database of hundreds of people who like us to send it to them year on year. We create a new theme every year and many people say they know its Christmas when they see the reminder for the latest quiz! It’s a great activity to use with all the family.’
If you would like to take a look at Joyce and Yasmi’s latest quiz which the theme this year is ‘body parts’ simply visit Joyce’s website detailed above and download the document.
Then see how much additional money you can raise for Macmillan Cancer Support by sending it to friends and family.
Joyce makes no profit whatsoever on the quiz and does it purely to help those in need.
Once the quiz is completed, she and Yasmi have the huge task of marking all the answers to find out who is the winner of the cash prize they kindly donate.
Any money raised from purchasing or selling on the quiz can either be donated on line at Joyce’s web page or sent to the Birmingham and Black Country Fundraising Team office marked with ‘Joyce’s Quiz 2010’.
