Sutton Coldfield supporter Tracey Firkins has decided on an innovative way to raise money for Macmillan by running 12 half marathons in 12 months.
Tracey, 38, has seen many members of her family pass away with cancer and also close friends. They were all helped by Macmillan nurses, so Tracey decided to do something to to repay Macmillan for all the support received.
Tracey will be starting her marathon epic in March with the Silverstone Half Marathon and will do a run every month with the last race being in February 2012.
Tracey said 'My challenge is for Macmillan Cancer Support, who's nurses have been there for so many of my friends and family when faced with cancer.
'I will be running 12 half marathons in 12 months. These will be organised races across the country. I am a novice runner who only completed my first half marathon in March 2010, so this is truly a challenge for me.
'If you ever thought you would love to have a go then please, get in touch and join me in one or two, you will love it. There is plenty of time to train you up.'
