Caroline and Val Pattinson hand cheque to Kevin Hayes, Macmillan Information Manager at Freeman Hospital, at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care, Newcastle.
Pattinson, one of the largest firms in the region, are celebrating their 35th birthday by setting a fundraising target of £35,000 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support at The Northern Centre for Cancer Care, The Freeman Hospital, Newcastle.
The estate agents commenced their birthday celebrations by joining forces with house hunters across the region, inviting them through the doors of their 30 branches for a coffee morning last month to help kick start the support for Macmillan’s annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning held on 28 September 2012. This was followed by a grand marquee charity birthday party for all of their 250 staff hosted by Chairman Keith Pattinson.
The firm also set up a direct fundraising scheme with Macmillan to donate £25 for every new property listed during the month of July, raising a combined grand total so far of £14,000.
Keith Pattinson had this to say, 'We have been in business for 35 years so decided that it would be fitting to aim to raise £35,000 for the charity in our birthday year.
'We are very aware of the pioneering work Macmillan does and we decided what better way to celebrate this big birthday by joining forces with such a worthy cause. We have found the fundraising birthday celebrations immensely enjoyable and are very proud to help support Macmillan in the local community particularly the excellent work they do at The Freeman Hospital.'
