Peter Sangster from Bexhill has written a book of his personal memories and experiences, with all proceeds from the book going to the Sussex Macmillan Cancer Support Centre Appeal. Peter was diagnosed with aggressive lung cancer and given a prognosis of between 12 and 18 months in June 2010.
At this point, he was asked the question 'What would you like to do?' which prompted him to write down all of his memories and experiences, so they would not be lost once he was gone. He says:
'When I was writing my book, I was not interested in making any money from it myself. It was during my early treatment that I learned how much support Macmillan gave to patients and their relatives and friends (often behind the scenes). Then I learned about the Appeal and decided that this project would be the best cause for me to support.'
You can get hold of a copy of 'What would you like to do?' by writing to Peter at 13, South Cliff Avenue, Bexhill-on-Sea East Sussex TN39 3EB enclosing a cheque payable to him for £18 (to cover cost of P&P, of which £15 will go to Macmillan) and he will send you a personally signed copy
